A TeX-to-HTML converter that typesets mathematics
WITHOUT GIFS!

TeX2HTML takes in a tex file, and returns an HTML
file, where the typeset mathematics are presented
using a clever use of HTML layout and tables, with
special symbols achieved via the resident SYMBOL
font on all computers.  

TeX2HTML allows math-presenters the opportunity
to publish their math-rich papers on the web 
in an HTML version for high-speed browsing. 

TeX2HTML does not convert typeset mathematics into GIFs,
thus increasing the speed and smoothness of downloads
of converted TeX files.

HTML restrictions do not allow TeX2HTML to replace high-fidelity
media such as PDF, PS, or DVI files for printing.  But TeX2HTML does
produce pages that give websurfers instant browsing, including
mathematics and hyperlinks.  TeX2HTML's math layout maximizes
the text-based HTML layout commands to produce the best 
HTML approximations to high-quality TeX layout.

TeX2HTML can convert the following flavors of TeX:

   * TeX
   * LaTeX (with .aux files)
   * TeX/LaTeX with \input files
   * BibTeX
   * Babel
   * Some AMS TeX
   
There are some restrictions to TeX2HTML's abilities.
Certain advanced programming constructs within TeX
are not supported by TeX2HTML.  As well, some special
fonts not found in standard SYMBOL are not supported.
TeX files that use these restrictions can still be
converted by TeX2HTML, but certain post-processing
will be required by the author.
